Hi, I’m Georgina – welcome to my corner of the internet.
I created The Garrood Life as a cosy, gentle space to share simple, nourishing meals, small home routines, and creative ideas that make everyday life feel a little calmer, happier, and more beautiful. I’ve always loved comfort cooking, a tidy home, a well-timed reset, and the small, thoughtful touches that make life run more smoothly. I don’t believe you need a perfect routine, a huge budget, or endless energy to build a life you love – just a few meaningful habits and a warm, welcoming place that you’re proud to call yours. Here, you’ll find real moments of home life: slow improvements that quietly add up, cosy nutritious meals, and soft, steady routines that help keep a home (and a mind) in order. Whether you’re here for a new recipe, a bit of home inspiration, or a spark of motivation to reset your week, I’m truly glad you’re here and I hope this space brings you a moment of ease.
The idea for this blog has been with me for years. Growing up, I was fascinated by an old TV show – The Good Life. I loved their self-sufficiency, creativity, and the way they built a warm, intentional life out of simple things. Those values stayed with me, shaping how I cook, how I keep my home, and how I approach creativity. Without realising it, that gentle, homemade way of living became the foundation for everything I now share here.
That love of creating things with my own hands became even more meaningful during our wedding in 2025. I designed the signs, crafted the details, and made many of the personal touches that brought the day to life. What surprised me most wasn’t the amount of work, but how much joy I found in it – the planning, the problem-solving, and the feeling of making something truly ours. Hearing our guests compliment those handmade details reminded me why I’ve always been drawn to thoughtful, homemade living. That experience encouraged me to finally create this website: a place to share the calm routines, creative projects, and simple comforts that make everyday life feel a little more “made with love.”
